There are 37 original etchings in all.
11 of the 12 biographies contain quite detailed descriptions and illustrations of the artists' house and studio. The artists are Leighton, Millais, Alma-Tadema, Herkomer, Baudry, Israels, Menzel, Piloty, Makart, Meissonier, Hook and Cabanel. Bound in 1/2 morocco with gilt lettering and cloth covered boards. The binding is worn, the spine top and bottom scuffed, the front cover panel is loose. Contents are clean and un-marked. The etchings are all as new.
