EX CARTIER SHOWROOM, BOND STREET, LONDON

A rare opportunity to acquire a piece of Cartier history. A MUST for sellers or collectors of Cartier items. Any fine items would be stylishly displayed with this cabinet.

This display cabinet/counter was made circa late 1960s for the salon of Cartier in Bond Street, for the display of their merchandise. It is of the finest quality engineering and craftsmanship, the frame being gilded heavy brass and the glass being 10mm thick plate, the end pieces being curved. The glass shelves are at a fixed height but are easily removed for transport. The front is plate glass and one side is open for access to goods.

The base is solid mahogany and inlaid with maple? alignment lines to provide a reference for item  placement on the shelves above to ensure a balanced, ordered and eye catching display of goods.

The Cartier "Santos" logo is emblazoned ten times around the upper gilded surface, cast into the metal.

The condition is generally excellent, being structurally sound and solid, with minor surface wear commensurate with age.

At a guess it weighs about 100 kg. It can be disassembled, with the glass removed and the frame unscrewed and separated into uprights and single plane pieces, convenient for reducing shipping volume.

Dimensions:  150 cms wide,  70 cms deep, 92 cms high.
